Our Admission Process

Admissions are handled with care, clarity, and respect.
We take time to understand each young person, plan properly, and ensure a smooth and emotionally safe transition.

Step 1

Referral and Initial Assessment

We review each referral thoroughly to ensure we can meet the young person’s needs.

This includes:

  • Emotional, behavioural, and learning needs
  • Risk history and safeguarding considerations
  • Group compatibility Health, education, and therapeutic needs
  • Required staffing levels, including enhanced staffing and 1 to 1 (or more) support where risk, dependency, or emotional need requires it.

We aim to provide an initial decision within 24 hours.

Step 2

Matching and Care Planning

If the referral is suitable, we complete a detailed Impact Assessment and develop a personalised Placement Plan.

We consult with social workers and key professionals such as psychologists, therapists, SEND specialists, and CAMHS.

This ensures that support is prepared well before arrival.

Step 3

Transition and Welcome

A child’s first moments matter.

We welcome them with warmth and gentleness, ensuring their move feels safe and supported.

This may include:

  • Introductory visits
  • Meet and greet sessions
  • A child friendly guide
  • A personalised welcome pack
  • Space and time to settle without pressure

For emergency admissions:

  • Assessments are completed immediately
  • A full review takes place within 72 hours

Our focus is emotional safety above all else.

Placement and Early Support

During the early days, we focus on:

  • Establishing routines
  • Building trust and emotional stability
  • Supporting school engagement
